Hibernia – Storm Update
The Grand Banks experienced a significant storm this week. Our workforce both offshore and onshore responded very professionally, drawing on their training and knowledge to keep everyone safe and with no environmental incidents. While the weather conditions seen were well within the design limits of the Hibernia platform, during the storm three of the eight Hibernia lifeboats were impaired and taken out of service as a result of the weather. Hibernia still has five lifeboats available for use if required, providing more than 100 percent capacity for the platform’s workforce. We are making plans for putting the three lifeboats back in service, in the meantime we have more than 100% capacity for a full personnel on board complement. We are demobilizing some personnel in order to return to 200% lifeboat capacity. When flights resume, Hibernia will begin demobilizing personnel with a plan to get to approximately 175 people on board, while inspections and lifeboat maintenance are carried out.
