CoLab secures $5.6M from the Hibernia and Hebron Projects to create local artificial intelligence talent and accelerate ReviewAI roadmap

A Newfoundland and Labrador-based software company - CoLab Software - has secured $5.6M CAD in funding from the Hibernia and Hebron Projects to grow local artificial intelligence (AI) talent and product capabilities. The investment will fund around 60,000 hours of additional local software development to expedite the creation of CoLab’s new product - ReviewAI.

The innovative program includes educational opportunities for over 150 Games medical personnel, first aid and CPR training for local first responders, mental health first aid for 55 Games personnel, and specialized training for working with para-athletes and Special Olympics athletes. The Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine will also work with the Games’ Medical Leadership Team.

Re: July 19, 2019 spill charges

Hibernia Management and Development Company Ltd. (HMDC) pled guilty to one charge (‘Failed to cease work causing pollution’) related to the 2019 spill and the other charges were withdrawn. HMDC deeply regrets this incident occurred. We have taken actions to address the lessons learned from the incident. Our Hibernia workforce remains committed to operating in an environmentally responsible manner.
